Two Monitoring Solutions in One Convenient Package

The Dual Alarm System provides two types of patient monitoring in one device—perfect for use with both beds and chairs. This versatile alarm includes a long-term bed sensor pad and a pull-string magnet alarm, allowing you to choose the most appropriate method depending on your patient’s needs or location.

As an added feature, you can also record a personalised 15-second message that plays when the patient tries to get up—for a gentle, familiar reminder instead of a standard alert.

For lightweight patients (under 10 stone or 140 lbs), we recommend selecting the larger pad option (20" x 30" / 50cm x 76cm) from the dropdown menu. This ensures better weight distribution and helps prevent false alarms due to insufficient pressure on the pad.

How to Use the System

Bed Monitoring Setup

1. Place the bed pad under the fitted sheet, typically around the middle back or lower bottom area of the patient.

2. Connect the pad to the dual alarm unit.

3. When the patient attempts to get up and lifts their weight from the pad, your recorded message or alert tone will sound.

4. The alarm can be silenced by pressing the Reset button on the alarm unit, or it will automatically reset if the patient sits/lies back down on the pad.

Chair Monitoring Setup (Pull-String Alarm)

1. Attach the alarm unit to the back of the chair or wheelchair.

2. Clip one end of the magnet string to the alarm, and the other end to the patient’s clothing, usually at the shoulder.

3. If the patient leans forward or attempts to stand, the magnet detaches, triggering the alarm.

4. To stop the alarm, reinsert the magnet into the alarm or press the Reset button.

Customised Voice Alert Option

Instead of a standard alarm sound, record your own 15-second personalised message, such as:

“Mum, Please sit back down, I’ll be there in a moment.”

This can offer a calmer and more reassuring experience for the patient, especially those with dementia or anxiety.

Power Options & Battery Guidance

• Alarm requires 3 x AA batteries (not included)

• Optional AC Adapter available (select from dropdown when ordering)

  • The adapter powers the alarm but does not charge it.

  • Always keep batteries installed as a backup in case of a power cut.

• Both the alarm unit and bed sensor pad come with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty for peace of mind.
